St Columba's pupils have made laundry bags for staff at local GP surgeries and the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

We know that everyone is incredibly grateful for the key workers who have been working hard to keep shops open, keep hospitals running, complete deliveries and ensure our bins are emptied.

It is inspiring to hear the unique and wonderful ways in which our pupils have shown their appreciation for key workers. There have been gifts for refuse collectors, multiple musical tributes and now one pupil has used her creative crafting to help those who are fighting the pandemic.

Anna W (SII), and her friends, have used their sewing skills to make an untold number of laundry bags for medical staff at local GP surgeries and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The laundry bags can be used to help safely transport scrubs and uniform worn by staff exposed to the coronavirus. The bags ensure that uniform can be taken home safely for washing, minimising contact with family or loved ones.

Anna has also been keeping her mission eco-friendly by re-using pillow slips to make the laundry bags. She has now started using her skills to create masks and mouth coverings. Her selfless sewing has inspired us all to continue supporting key workers, carers and all those who are working hard at the coalface of the pandemic.

A big well done to Anna and her friends for the caring and kind work they have done so far.
