Roll up! Roll up! You are invited to our Late Summer Fete

Roll up! Roll up!

This September, St Columba’s will be hosting our Late Summer Fete! No masks, no social distancing and no praying for a dry day will be required because we will be hosting this event entirely ONLINE!

How do I ‘attend’?

Please join us on the school’s Instagram account where we will be showcasing four very special stalls run by SVI Craigmarloch, SVI Duchal, SVI Kilallan and SVI Strathgryffe. In June, pupils pitched their stall ideas to a panel of judges and this September, they will be turning those pitches into reality. Each team will be offering up an array of products and exiting events in order to raise funds for their chosen charities. All purchases must be made online, via the Summer Fete Shop: https://bit.ly/3bzXIlt.

Meanwhile, we will also be running three other competitions including Kilmacolm Krufts, and St ColumbART's - lots of artistic and canine fun!

Why are we doing this online?

There is one rather obvious reason but the main purpose of the event is simply to challenge our SVI pupils’ entrepreneurial and philanthropic skills while raising money for their chosen charities. We hope that our young people will learn to collaborate not only with one another but with professional departments within the school, such as marketing.

It is also a great way to unite the community school-wide and we very much hope you enjoy it.

When will the fete take place?

The fete will take place right up until the 12th of September – this will be the final day for purchasing products and it will also be the day when our competition winners will be announced so please keep an eye on Instagram from early September right through to the 12th!
