Maggie L Receives The Arkwright Scholarship.
Congratulations to Maggie L in SV, who has been awarded the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. After the announcement was made at assembly, Mrs Reilly, Rector, awarded Maggie with a badge and certificate, and congratulated her on this outstanding achievement. To gain the scholarship, Maggie has completed a rigorous 5-stage selection process, including an aptitude exam and interview.
The Scholarship helps to inspire and identify future leaders in Engineering, Computing, and Technical Design. It provides pupils with funding and a mentorship programme to help further their academic studies, assist with technical projects and provide career development advice.
Unfortunately, with the current covid-19 restrictions, The Smallpeice Trust are not able to host their usual ceremony. Sponsors would have been able to meet the scholars they will be supporting, however, there are plans for the sponsors to be introduced to the pupils virtually.
It is undeniable that this has been a trying year and Maggie’s success in the scholarship programme bares as a testament to her resilient attitude. Well done and congratulations to Maggie, we are excited to hear of all your future endeavours.
