Congratulations to Jack P in Senior VI!
Yesterday afternoon, it was announced that Jack has been selected as part of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Under 20’s athletics team.
Jack has been selected for the team after recording a time 6 seconds faster than the European qualifying standard for 3000m. The team will be competing at the Loughborough International competition this weekend, where athletes will gain their first experience in wearing the British vest.
The Loughborough International competition and selection for the under 20’s team is a key opportunity in the Olympic performance pathway. This level of competition helps to prepare, confirm and support young athletes on their journey towards possible Olympic success. Jack is also aiming to qualify for the European Championships which will be hosted in Estonia. The qualifying race is hosted in Manchester, with the top two finishing athletes continuing to compete at the championships.
