Mr Stark's STEM students stride ahead in space learning

Last term, St Columba’s was awarded the prestigious Silver Space Education Quality Mark in recognition of our excellent work in STEM. Mr Stark has been instrumental in guiding pupils towards this award and we are delighted that their efforts have paid off.

The Space Education Quality Mark is awarded to schools that use the context of space in subjects, have worked with other organisations, shared resources and used space to enrich the curriculum. The Space Education Quality Mark was created by ESERO-UK, which supports the space sector and teachers to open doors for young people from all backgrounds by delivering inspiring world-class teaching in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

On achieving this award, Alex Brown, STEM Support Programme Manager at STEM Learning, said: “We are delighted to congratulate St Columba’s School on receiving the Silver Space Education Quality Mark. By receiving the Space Education Mark, St Columba's has demonstrated a real and ongoing commitment to excellent STEM education.”

Onwards and upwards to our stellar STEM students and staff!
