Senior School Prizegiving

On Friday, 23rd June 2023, Senior School pupils, teachers, parents and invited guests gathered in St Columba Church to celebrate the achievements of the 2022/23 session.
We were delighted to welcome the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons - and St Columba's School alumni - Dame Eleanor Laing, as our guest speaker where she was also announced as the new Honorary President of the School. Dame Eleanor takes over this role from Mr Guy Clark, who steps down after 16 years of loyal service.
The musical highlight of the day came from Emily B (SV) who reprised her spine-tingling performance of Andre Messager's Solo de Concours which recently won her the title of Scottish Young Musicians Solo Performer of the Year.
In a break from tradition, the departing SVI cohort were gifted memory boxes containing a mug, keyring, lapel badge and School tie. These were presented by Former Pupil's Association committee member Mrs Samantha Sharp.
The final prizes awarded were for the Dux and Proxime Accessit of St Columba's School. These are awarded to the highest performing SVI pupils across their academic studies.
