Yet another win for this dedicated and tenacious group of musicians.

The Championships showcase the talent of hundreds of young people from across Scotland, and even some from sometimes further afield.

St Columba’s School Pipe Band took the Novice Juvenile B category by storm. With 21 school bands competing, this was an absolutely outstanding achievement in what was the most significant category of the day.

37 band members (the most yet) competed from  J6 toSVI. Of this  37,  20 were making their competitive debut with the band. Everyone in school bore testament to  how hard they worked to prepare, with practices as early as 8am in the weeks leading up to the competition. As the Piping & Drumming instructors say ‘there is no substitute for hard work’ and this group clearly work hard. We are  extremely proud of our Pipe Band -  the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Champions!

The results for Novice Juvenile B were as follows:

1st - St Columba’s School

2nd-  High School of Dundee

3rd - George Watson College
