The girls 1st XI hocley team win at the Hutchesons' grammar 7's tournament.

Last Wednesday (4th march) the Girls St Columba’s 1st XI Hockey team took part in the Hutchesons’ Grammar School Tournament. The girls managed to keep to consistent scores throughout the 7’s tournament. Finishing in 2nd but best runners-up the team then went through to the Semi Finals.

The girls then went on to play Marr College, clearly winning 1 – 0, putting the team into the final against The High School of Glasgow.

The final match was a close call, running into extra time, however no golden goal was scored meaning the match went on to penalties. Despite being a nail biting finish, the team claimed the win with a 2 – 1 score.

This was a great achievement for the girls who put on an outstanding performance. The tournament had last been won by the school in 1996, we are very proud of the girls in the 1st XI team for bringing back an amazing win.
