Arrangements for a safe return this August

Return to School

We are all very much looking forward to welcoming every child back to school next week for full-time education.  Having spent almost two weeks working with the Government Guidelines and our Health and Safety advisers, we are now able to share our plans with you.

The below items have been uploaded for you to read and watch in your own time. These include pre-recorded presentations for both Senior and Junior school. Instructional videos for pupils and a Fly-through video of one-way systems in the Senior School. Transcript documents are available for each presentation and can be found in the corresponding link.

    Instructional videos for pupils -

Below are instructional videos highlighting some of the new hygiene procedures for pupils attending Senior School. The videos are to act as a guide for pupils, helping them to understand some of the new changes that will become part of their daily routines.

Our Risk Assessment has been shared with parents and staff and is available on request by contacting the Head of Finance & Operations.

We are very conscious that returning to school after a 5-month absence will bring unique challenges.  Our aim during the initial phase of the return will be to focus on wellbeing, hygiene and positive relationships.

The pace of academic work will gradually increase as pupils become more settled in the new daily routine and we will also be looking to identify any gaps in learning as quickly as possible.  We understand that for some pupils learning during lockdown was more challenging than for others and plans will be put in place to support these individuals. The focus of the documents we are sharing at this stage is general information for Junior and Senior School.

We will be able to provide more focused information for individual year groups at our virtual Information Evenings. The dates of these will be shared with you shortly with joining instructions.

The early days of term will allow us to keep the contingency measures under constant review and we will respond quickly to any necessary improvements that are identified and communicate these with you promptly.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy return to school.

    Victoria J Reilly

    Rector
