Early Years have been busy this week with lots of exciting activities taking place.

Tuesday the 17th of March was St Patrick’s Day, and early years turned St Columba’s green with envy, after we saw all their themed snacks and wonderful activities.

The children enjoyed some shamrock shaped bread with butter on, green cucumber slices and Boxty – which is a traditional Irish potato pancake. After they then enjoyed green jelly and made some beautiful St Patrick’s Day greeting cards. Lorcan even brought in his superb and super cool hat to show everyone!

The Wednesday the 18th was Beep Beep day so Early Years have been chatting about how to stay safe when crossing the road or when you are near a road. They learnt all about the colours of the traffic lights by making their own paper versions, the children even constructed some roads as well.

The Early Years children did lots to remind everyone, the importance of holding hands when crossing the road. They created some bright and beautiful posters, adorned with colourful hand prints, and did some wonderful singing about busy roads. We hope the Early Years have had lots of fun during their busy week and learnt a lot from all their innovative activities.
