Pupils embrace the challenge of home learning, and adapt to the new circumstances

What a busy start to the week! Remote learning is off to a flying start at St Columba’s with all the pupils embracing the challenge and adapting to the new circumstances.

Yesterday, children from Early years proved, through all their exciting activities, remote learning is in no way boring. There have been some great pictures sent through the Early Years Journals. George used his resources pack, that Early years children had taken home last week, and created a terrifying monster picture by using different shapes!

Prep have recently been learning a new sound every week. With the remote learning this week, it has been decidedly harder to conduct classes. However the innovative Mrs McLean, has been sharing wonderful videos for the class to watch. We were sent a lovely picture of Katherine watching Mrs McLean chatting and singing about the sound Z.

Meanwhile Gemma from Early years was busy painting nails. Her wonderful use of colour did not stop there, she also made a beautiful rainbow and unicorn to put in the window.

Gemma has joined thousands of other children across the globe who have started the Chase the rainbow trend. Aiming to spread hope, joy and happiness to everyone. Mr Campbell sent in the amazing rainbows that J4 had also created. J4 are encouraging everyone to look out for the rainbows when they are out walking for exercise or on their way to the shops.

We want to encourage everyone to send us photos of your online lessons, art you have been creating, or tips for productivity and focus that you'd like to share. You can share these and any other COVID-19 positivity to us via our Marketing email ( Marketing@st-columbas.org )
