The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at St Columba’s

Generations of Columbans have been inspired through their involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.  As a mark of respect, and by way of celebrating the Duke's exceptional legacy, we are asking our community of current and former pupils to share your DofE Award stories and memories.

Perhaps the award taught you the important principles of determination, commitment and duty? Perhaps you developed a new skill or life-long passion in the form of hiking, canoeing or camping? Maybe you have continued to be a devoted volunteer…

There maybe some of you who have gone on to lead other young people in Duke of Edinburgh's Award activities and we would love to hear about why you were inspired to help other young people to take advantage of this life-changing scheme.

Whatever the Award has done for you, we would love to hear about it.

Please submit your stories to the school’s marketing department by clicking the link here below or copying and pasting marketing@st-columbas.org into your browser.  We will publish your stories in a special feature in the next edition of the school magazine (Autumn 2021) and perhaps online too!

The DofE website is also accepting submissions so please also contribute there (link below) but please don’t forget to contact St Columba's marketing team with your story, an illustrative photo (if you have one!) and the year you left school.
